How to apply for the Civil Services Exam?

 Civil Services Exam is one of the most coveted exams in India. There are many students who dream of cracking this exam to land the job they have always wished for. You might have joined an IAS Coaching Class to complete the syllabus, but what about the application process? It is crucial to know how to apply for the exam and there must be no mistakes while applying for the exam. 

You can follow the below-given steps to know how to apply for the civil Services Exam-

There are two parts in the application process: Registration I and Registration II.

The Registration-I will require you to fill out your basic information. After entering all the details, the candidate will be asked to recheck the form in case of any changes or edits. 

Step-1: Visit the official website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The candidates must know that the registration process of both

 pre and mains is done separately. The candidates who clear the pre exam must register again for the main exam.

Step-2: Click on Exam notifications tab.

Step-3: Click on the “Apply Online” link.

Step-4: Click on the Civil Services Part-I registration.

Step-5: A terms and conditions document will appear on the screen. Read it carefully and click on “yes”.

Step-6: Fill the form with basic details such as Name, DOB, Address, contact Details, etc.

Step-7: After filling the details, click on “Continue”. Check if all the details are filled in correctly. If all the information is correct, click on “Submit”.

Step-8: After the form completion, the candidate must press the “I agree” button. This will generate a Registration Number which must be noted down by the candidate.

In the Registration-II, you will have to pay the fee, selection of center, and upload your documents to conclude the process.

Step-1: Click on the “Click here for Part-II” link.

Step-2: Pay the application fee by the mode of payment convenient for you. The application fee is:

Step-3: After paying the fee, select your examination center.

Step-4: Upload passport size photo, signature and Photo ID proof in the prescribed format.

Step-5: Finally submit the application form to conclude the application process.
