Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Exam Procedure

The IAS Exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission during a three-stage process which lasts on the brink of one year.

The first stage of the exam is an objective type examination consisting of two papers. the primary paper is named General Studies while the second paper is named CSAT (Civil Service Aptitude Test). CSAT examination is only qualifying while the marks of the GS paper is employed to rank you and choose your eligibility to seem for the Mains examination.

The Mains Examination consists of 9 papers. it's the second stage of the examination. The papers are General Essay, English, Indian Language, GS -I, GS- II, GS- III and GS IV, and a couple of optional papers. this is often the stage of the exam that carries maximum marks.
