What is the difference between the RAS Exam and IAS Exam?

 For the consideration of all aspirants appearing in either of the recruitment examinations, the main differences between RAS and IAS are going to be within the following aspects.

1. RAS and IAS: Difference in the regulation of Applicants

One of the foremost central differences between RPSC RAS and UPSC Civil Services Examination is at the appliance level. there's a big regulation differentiation once we compare both exams.

The regulation set for UPSC CSE Aspirant is between 21 to 32 Years.

The regulation set for RPSC RAS Aspirant is between 21 to 35 Years.

Note: Age relaxation is applicable in terms of reserved categories and PWD in accordance with the norms stated by the govt in both cases.

Hence, we will see that candidates within the upper regulation are going to be quite prevalent in RPSC RAS

Examination as compared with UPSC Civil Services Examination.

2.RAS and IAS: The difference in Exam Type

There are a couple of major differences in terms of exam sort of RPSC RAS and UPSC Civil Services Examination.

In RPSC RAS Examination, most of the questions are supported by the State of Rajasthan, whereas, for UPSC Civil Services Examination, most questions are centered around the National and International Level. aside from that, RPSC RAS may be a State Level Examination conducted by Rajasthan Public

Service Commission and UPSC CSE are a Central Level Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission. RPSC RAS is the Highest Administrative Recruitment Examination of the State of Rajasthan, whereas the IAS is the Highest Administrative Recruitment Examination of our country.

Hence, we will see that both examinations are different from one another.

3.RAS and IAS: Difference in Exam Pattern of Papers

UPSC Civil Services Examination or just IAS Examination features a three-stage selection process, namely CSAT (Prelims), Mains, and Interview.

Although the amount of stages for the RPSC RAS Examination is additionally equivalent the set of question papers is different.

IAS Prelims: Civil Services Examination (Preliminary) Stage, also referred to as CSAT, comprises of two papers:

1.General Studies

2.General Aptitude

The total time allotted to unravel IAS Prelims is 4 hours, with 200 inquiries to answer.

RPSC RAS Prelims: there's just one single paper that contains questions on both General Studies and General Aptitude. the entire time allotted to unravel IAS Prelims is 3 hours, with 150 inquiries to answer.

In UPSC Civil Services Examination, there are separate qualifying exams for English and therefore the selected Regional Language, whereas, in RPSC RAS Exam, there's one paper of 200 marks during which Hindi covers 120 marks and English covers 80 marks.

In UPSC Civil Services Examination, there are four papers of General Studies having 250 marks each. In RPSC RAS Examination, there are only three papers having 200 marks each.

In UPSC Civil Services Examination, there are two papers on a specific optional subject. There are not any such papers in RPSC RAS Examination.

In the RAS Examination, GS Mains paper contains topics from Mathematics, Reasoning, and Statistics. However, there's no such thing in UPSC CSE.
